Ellerine Holdings became a wholly- owned subsidiary of African Bank Investments Limited (ABIL) in early 2008. With new leadership from ABIL, it has been repositioned to become the leading furniture retailer in South Africa, meeting the challenging and changing needs of the country’s market. The unique synergy between bank and the repositioned furniture retailer has already seen advantages for the group’s customers who have benefitted from some of the lowest interest rates in the retail market, together with an offer of extended credit terms. Pricing within the brands has also been driven down to facilitate more people having access to affordable credit.
Aligning its brands to meet the evolving segments of the South African market by streamlining and re-structuring its brands, Ellerine’s remaining brands will have new and highly differentiated customer value propositions such as the quality of goods, styling, store design and quality of service. The newly structured brands within the group will form a stronger, more formidable company. A new Ellerine Holdings logo - with a fresh, unique and futuristic look - reflects the changes of this exciting, newly structured group. It is an innovative, 21st Century company that is clearly, carefully and purposefully repositioning and rebranding itself to cater for all segments of the market – a group whose brands meet the needs of every lifestyle.
