Afripack (Pty) Ltd has been a successful independent packaging company for the last 75 years. During 2008 the company celebrated
its 75th anniversary and completed a R60-million investment in its paper sack business. This brings Afripack’s total recent investment in plant and equipment to R175-million.
The purpose of the business is to add sustainable
value to its customers – focusing on delivering continuous improvement in product and service quality. The company does this through focus, technology investment and progressive people management.
Afripack’s traditional business focus has been paper sacks and bags - it currently produces approximately 120m pa using state-of-the-art conversion equipment. It holds several long-term exclusive supply agreements with blue-chip customers like PPC, Lafarge, Idwala and Sasol and have proven to be a flexible, competitive and reliable supplier. Cement sacks represent the bulk of local and export volumes. Other industries supplied are inter alia lime, tile adhesives, base minerals, chemicals, and foodstuffs.
During the last three years it has successfully
built up its flexible business following a R60-million investment in modern flexographic printers and extrusion technology. Significant expertise has been developed in the printing and coating of especially paper-based products. Its equipment and quality is internationally competitive and benchmarked as such by international customers.
